Seven Finnish companies have been selected among the finalists of the Red Herring 100 Europe Award from a pool of the most innovative companies in Europe. The finalists are evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries. The Finnish companies selected are Beneq, Eniram, Footbalance System Oy, Mendor, Microtask, Rightware and Sendandsee Oy.
Beneq is a supplier of production and research equipment for advanced thin film coatings serving the cleantech and renewable energy fields. Eniram’s product portfolio assists the shipping industry to reduce fuel consumption, protect the environment and increase the knowledge of vessel and fleet performance. Footbalance produces personalized insoles that are individually custom moulded in less than ten minutes in the store on the basis of the customer’s foot analysis.
Mendor has developed a portable blood glucose meter and web-based software application for the daily management of diabetes. Microtask’s data entry service combines computerized text recognition and human intelligence for inputting data from forms, faxes and paper into databases. Rightware is a market leader in 3D user interface technology, serving the mobile, automotive and other embedded industries. Sendandsee Oy provides technology and services that create mobile media which includes automatically inserted advertising.
