New routes from Finland by Belavia, Blue1 and Ryanair

Belavia will launch the first direct flights between Finland and Belarus in June 2011.

Belavia, the national airline of Belarus, will start regular flights between Helsinki and Minsk from the beginning of June 2011. Belavia will have three flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays using a 50-seater Canadian Regional Jet 100/200 plane. The service will provide the first ever direct flights between Finland and Belarus.

Blue1 is starting twice daily flights from Tampere to Copenhagen in October 2011 and also increasing the service between Tampere and Helsinki with one more flight per day. According to Juha Järvinen, Vice President Commercial at Blue1, the company’s objective is to raise the number of passengers travelling from Tampere airport from the current 50,000 per year to 125,000. The new routes increase the number of daily flights to seven.

Ryanair will commence flights from Tampere to Rome on 6 May 2011 and to Trapani in Sicily on 4 June 2011.
