Lifestyle retail chain Tiger to expand fast in Finland

Danish retailer Tiger plans to open six stores in Finland this year and ten more next year.

Tiger sells office and crafts products, home products, toys, games and cosmetics. “In addition to the basic selection, a monthly theme and current trends will also be visible in the stores,” says Tapio Kuittinen, Tiger’s Country Manager for Finland. Tiger was first established in 1995 and now has more than 100 stores in 12 countries.

According to Tahir Hussain, he decided to expand Tiger’s business to Finland because of its synergy with Scandinavia, similar legal structure, the fact that English is spoken widely and the suitability of the company’s products for Finnish customers. He has found the Finland’s business environment to be “very easy and efficient”.

Tiger has used Invest in Finland’s services during the company’s entry to the Finnish market. “It was useful to have a base in Finland to carry out interviews. Invest in Finland’s personnel were useful in providing information and answering any questions we may have had,” says Tahir Hussain.
