Finland's retail trade sales increased by 7.7% in September 2011 compared to the same period one year ago, according to Statistics Finland. The sales volume also grew by 4.1% during the same time period. Wholesale trade sales went up by 6.7% and motor vehicle sales by 9.1%. Sales in the daily consumer goods trade also increased by 10.1%. Total trade sales in the Finnish economy went up by 7.3%.
During the period January to September 2011, retail trade turnover increased by 6.0% and wholesale trade by 9.4% from the corresponding period one year earlier. The turnover from motor vehicle sales enjoyed the fastest growth with an increase of 18.1%. In total trade sales were up by 9.4% in January to September 2011 compared to the same period one year ago.
