Finland is one of the few countries in the eurozone where advertising expenditure is increasing in 2012, according to Advertising Age magazine. In most Eurozone countries spending on advertising is stagnant or falling. The relatively strong performance of the Finnish economy in the crisis-ridden Eurozone is also reflected in the advertising sector.
Research companies ZenithOptimedia and MagnaGlobal have revised their forecasts downwards for advertising expenditure in the Eurozone. In its latest forecast for global advertising expenditure, ZenithOptimedia states that “in the Eurozone adspend is flat” but is expected to grow by 3.2% in Finland this year. ZenithOptimedia now forecasts 1.1% decrease in advertising expenditure in the Eurozone in 2012.
According to MagnaGlobal, the global market for advertising is about EUR 480 billion.
