The Swedish building supplies chain Byggmax has doubled the number of its stores in Finland during the past six months. This spring Byggmax has already opened stores in Pori and Porvoo, and is now launching new stores in Raisio and in Tammisto, Vantaa. The company has existing stores in Jyväskylä, Lahti, Turku and Vaasa.
“We have been looking to open a store in the capital city region and have now found a good location. Tammisto has developed into a shopping area for builders and decorators and our store is located in the core of the area,” says Kaj Norrman, who is in charge of Byggmax’s development in Finland.
Construction work on the 6800 square metre Tammisto site expected to be completed in time to open the store this summer. Byggmax’s strategy is to continue its expansion in Finland by opening many more stores in the next few years. Byggmax also has 37 stores in Sweden and 7 in Norway.
