Almost 70 new stores and restaurants to open in Helsinki Airport

Finavia is investing about EUR 900 million to prepare Helsinki Airport to serve 20 million passengers annually by 2020.

According to Finavia, it is investing about EUR 900 million in its ongoing development programme, which will prepare Helsinki Airport to serve 20 million passengers annually by 2020. The programme aims to consolidate Helsinki Airport’s status as the world’s leading transit airport.

During the past year, Europe’s largest travel sector retailer World Duty Free Group (WDFG) and one of the largest airport restaurant service providers HMSHost have launched operations at Helsinki Airport. Currently, the combined value of investments of companies operating at the airport is approximately EUR 40 million.
