Construction work has started on wpd Finland Oy’s wind park project located in Mäkikangas near Pyhäjoki in north-western Finland. The project consists of 11 wind turbines, each with a maximum output of 3 MW.
The wind turbines will be erected in June or July and production is expected to commence towards the end of 2014. When completed, the wind park will produce about 85 GWh of electricity annually. “The project has progressed smoothly and in a good spirit of cooperation with the municipality and residents as well as other stakeholders,” said Esa Holttinen, Managing Director at WPD Finland Oy.
wpd Finland Oy started operations in 2007 and is developing both land and offshore wind power projects in Finland. It is part of the wpd group, which is the market leader in Germany and one of Europe’s major wind sector actors.
