Turnover in Finland’s trade industries grew by 8.2% in 2011

Motor vehicle sales enjoyed 16.9% turnover growth, while retail sales increased by 5.2%.

Finland’s trade industries enjoyed good turnover growth in 2011, with total trade turnover increasing by 8.2% from the year before, according to Statistics Finland. Motor vehicle sales had the fastest growth with a 16.9% increase in turnover.

Retail trade sales increased by 5.2% in 2011 and the volume of retail trade sales was 2.3% up on the previous year. Wholesale trade sales grew by 7.8%. The turnover in the daily consumer goods trade increased by 6.4% and in the department store trade by 2.2%.
