Turnover in Finland's service industries up by 4%

Real estate activities generate 7.5% turnover growth.

Turnover in Finland's service industries grew by 4% per cent in March - May this year from the corresponding time period of the year before, according to Statistics Finland. Real estate activities in Finland enjoyed the fastest growth with a 7.5% increase.

Other sectors that performed well included professional, scientific and technical activities which increased their turnover by 6.6%, while administrative and support service activities also grew by 5.5%. Accommodation and food service activities recorded 5.2% turnover growth, and turnover in transportation and storage increased by 3.7%.

The development of turnover was weakest in other service activities which showed an increase of 0.3% and in arts, entertainment and recreation activities where turnover fell by 0.4%.

Statistics Finland has examined services exclusive of trade and the data have been adjusted for working days by eliminating the effects of calendar variations.
