Turnover in Finland’s service industries grew by 8.9% in first quarter

Fastest growth enjoyed by administrative and support services, professional, scientific and technical activities, and transportation and storage services

The turnover in Finland’s service industries increased by 8.9% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period one year ago, according to Statistics Finland. Among the service industries, administrative and support service activities enjoyed the fastest growth with a 13.9% increase in turnover. Professional, scientific and technical activities, and transportation and storage services also performed well with the turnover in both sectors increasing by more than 11%.

Turnover growth in accommodation and food service activities was 9.1%, while real estate activities grew by 7.7%. Arts, entertainment and recreation also recorded a 6.2% increase in turnover during the first quarter of the year.

Services are examined exclusive of trade and the data have been adjusted for working days by eliminating the effects of calendar variations.
