Travelport acquires Finnish Hotelzon

Finnish Hotelzon has been sold to an American travel commerce marketplace Travelport.

American travel commerce marketplace Travelport has acquired Hotelzon, a Finnish online hotel booking company from its former owner Berling Capital Ltd. Hotelzon offers booking technology and services to corporate clients, hotels and agency partners.

According to Hotelzon, the acquisition will support the company’s aim to expand internationally.

— This will enable us to further enhance our product and service offering as well as extend the range of international hotel content we are able to offer Hotelzon’s clients. It also gives Hotelzon’s independent hotel providers extensive new international reach through Travelport’s unsurpassed global network, says Jani Kaskinen, CEO of Hotelzon.

The two parties have not announced the value of the deal in public. Hotelzon will continue to operate under its existing brand and be led by the current CEO.

Headquartered in London, Hotelzon has offices also in Finland, Sweden and Romania. The company has approximately 80 employees. Hotelzon processed approximately 1.2 million room nights in 2013.
