Opportunities for transatlantic collaboration
Many participants at the event have been interested in what Finland has to offer. “The dynamic start-up scene in the Nordics is creating our new business success stories, for example in the connected health and mobile gaming sectors,” says Sari Ojala, Marketing Communications Manager at Invest in Finland. “Our leading education system combined with great mobile engineering talent is a source of inspiration globally. People also want know about Team Finland and how we operate abroad.”
Finnish life sciences research has been on display at the Bio-IT seminar. Professors from the Institute of Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) and Finland State Research Center (VTT) met leaders from the Massachusetts Bio-science ecosystem and Bio IT program to discuss transatlantic collaboration opportunities. Finland’s new Biobank Act and the Auria Biobank in Turku are potential drivers to boost the creation of new business and transatlantic research.
