Swedish IT company Prevas to establish joint venture in Finland

Local presence will strengthen relationships with existing customers and reach new customers.

The Swedish IT company Prevas is starting a company in Finland with an established Finnish partner. The new company will provide manufacturing-related IT solutions. Prevas has already been working in Finland with some time with major clients like Ruukki, Ovako, Outokumpu and Arla.

According to Prevas, a local presence in Finland, together with a local partner, will enable the company to further strengthen its relationships with existing customers and also expand the business and reach new customers. The new office will be located in Helsinki and will employ about 15 people.

Right strategic step

“To start a new company in Finland, and offer solutions that can help the Finnish industry to get world class competitiveness, is the right strategic step to take for Prevas,” says Christer Ramebäck, Senior Vice President of Industrial Systems at Prevas AB.

Prevas has been serving the Nordic market since 1985 with solutions for Industrial IT with a strong competence especially in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). MES are IT solutions that control the important production processes at a facility. According to Prevas, the market within MES is growing rapidly as industries compete on a global market and strive for higher capacity, quality and margins.
