Finnish eHealth expertise has featured strongly in the 2014 EU SME European eHealth Competition organised by TICBioMed in collaboration with the Health and Wellbeing Unit of the European Commission. An impressive seven Finnish companies were chosen among the 16 finalists of the competition which aims to discover the most innovative eHealth solutions developed by small European companies.
The Finnish company Medixine was awarded third prize in the “Champions” category. Medixine specializes in software for multichannel communication e-services for health care and wellness, designed for smooth communication between healthcare providers, patients and their families that result in high quality care and cost savings. The company’s solutions include population based health forecasting and reminder systems, patient based disease management and e-care systems.
The other Finnish finalists were Codenomicon, BlindSquare, 9Solutions Ltd, Emfit Ltd, Evondos Oy, and Euformatics Oy. The European eHealth Competition was held in conjunction with the WOHIT meeting in Nice on 2 April.
