Sasken expands operations in Finland

Sasken’s new expert organisation in Helsinki will serve key clients in the mobile phone industry.

The Indian company Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd, a global leader in R&D and support services, is establishing an expert organisation in the Ruoholahti district of Helsinki that is known for its concentration of high tech companies. Sasken’s customers include the five largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world.

Sasken is recruiting software designers knowledgeable about Nokia Maemo operating system. Maemo is a Linux based mobile platform and is used on Nokia’s N900-phone. Sasken is also looking for Java and QT specialists.

Sasken entered the Finnish market four years ago when it acquired the Finnish company Botnia Hightech. Sasken Finland Oy is focused on product development for the company’s European customers and currently employs about 300 people, with operations in Kaustinen, Oulu and Tampere.

Sasken provides products and services to leading semiconductor, terminal device, network equipment and test and measurement companies, and service providers globally. It helps businesses across the communications value chain accelerate product development life cycles.
