Retail trade sales in Finland grew by 9.0 per cent in February

The Finnish retail and wholesale trade have started the year with high growth.

In the daily consumer goods trade sales grew by 9.6%, while department store trade increased by 5.5%. Wholesale trade sales went up by an impressive 13.5%. In the motor vehicle trade, sales were also up by 7.0% year-on-year. In total trade, sales grew by 11.4 per cent in February.

The year has started well for the Finnish retail trade. According to figures from Statistics Finland for both January and February, sales in the retail trade increased by 8.1% and in the wholesale trade by 12.8% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Motor vehicle sales went up by 12.3%. In total, trade sales were up in January to February by 11.4% on the same period of the year before.
