Retail sector jobs are most attractive for the Finns

Finnish and international retailers come out on top in new survey exploring Finnish people’s views of different workplaces.

Finland’s retail sector is the most attractive place of employment, according to a survey of employed people and students commissioned by Talentum in Finland. Talentum produces publications, online services, training and different events for professionals. After the retail sector, other attractive workplaces include public administration, consulting, research and product development, and the technology industry.

The ten most attractive workplaces feature both Finnish and international retailers. Google, Finnair and Kone are also among the top ten in the student responses to the survey. Nokia’s popularity has fallen by half since the previous survey in 2010, when it was still seen as the most attractive workplace.

The survey reveals that for 72% of the respondents who are currently employed, the most important factor in an employer is good leadership, followed by the permanency of the job and challenging working tasks.
