Retail sales in Finland grew by 3.8% in October this year compared to October 2011, according to Statistics Finland. Sales in the daily consumer goods trade went up by 4.4% and department store sales by 1.2% year-on-year. Motor vehicle trade sales fell by 22.2% in October. The volume of sales fell by 0.1% in October.
In the period January – October 2012, retail sales have increased by 4.5% in Finland. The turnover of the daily consumer goods trade has increased by 5.2%. Department store trade has also recorded 3.6% turnover growth during the same period.
Wholesale trade turnover growth
In the wholesale trade, sales grew by 5.7% in October. During the first ten months of the year, the turnover of the wholesale trade has gone up by 3.9%.
The total turnover from trade grew by 1.4% in October and by 3.2% in the first ten months of the year. The volume of retail trade sales decreased by 0.1% over the same period.
