The constantly diversifying selection of shops and services at Helsinki Vantaa airport will soon welcome another quirky newcomer – a budget grocery store with a design twist. Finland’s largest daily consumer goods retailer HOK-Elanto is opening a new type of Alepa store at the T2 terminal of the Helsinki Vantaa airport, near gate B2. The usually fancy-free Alepa brand is known as HOK-Elanto’s budget grocery store, but the new airport Alepa promises to deliver more than just the basics and with a style to match.
According to HOK-Elanto company, the new store will remind passengers arriving in Finland that they have landed in the World Design Capital 2012. The uniforms of the store’s staff have been specially designed and can be individually altered according to personal taste and comfort. The normal product selection will be augmented with items that can be eaten quickly, as well as alternatives for food connoisseurs. The store’s selection will also include products from small producers, as well as Finnish souvenirs.
According to HOK-Elanto, an important customer group consists of people returning home who are faced with an empty fridge. The new store will be open round the clock and its prices will be the same as in other Alepa stores.
