A new hotel called Pyynikki Garden is being planned in Tampere near the city’s swimming pool. Shares in the hotel will be sold individually. Share owners can spend up to six weeks a year in the hotel and the accommodation is in hotel use for the rest of the time. The new hotel is an investment opportunity, according to Markku Vakkala, managing director of Hotelli Pyynikki Garden. He believes that other similar hotels will be built in Finland.
The pre-marketing of the hotel will commence in September 2010 and the formal decision to build the hotel will be made in January 2011. Construction of the EUR 24 million hotel is expected to be completed in the autumn 2012. The hotel will have 124 rooms with indoor access to the swimming pool, which is being renovated into more of a spa facility. The hotel will be built by NCC.
