Neste Jacobs is currently negotiating about the delivery of several plasma fractionation plants in South America and Asia in partnership with GE Healthcare. The construction of plasma fractionation plants may bring business worth tens of millions of euros in the next few years, according to Jarmo Suominen, Managing Director of Neste Jacobs. GE Healthcare and Neste Jacobs formed a strategic alliance in 2011 to assist countries worldwide to become self-sufficient in the manufacture of blood plasma products.
Suominen says that Neste Jacobs’ core know-how is in technology for the hydrocarbon industry. Alongside this, the company is also building new business areas in biorefining and the biopharmaceutical industry.
The history of Neste Jacobs goes back to 1956 as the engineering department of Neste Oy, Oil Refinery in Finland. The engineering department was corporatized in 1999 and Neste Engineering Oy was formed. Jacobs Engineering Inc became a minority owner in 2004 and the name Neste Jacobs was given.
