National logistics centre proposed for Seinäjoki in western Finland

Roves industrial area has excellent traffic connections and readiness for a major logistics centre, according to new study.

Seinäjoki in western Finland could be a suitable location for a national logistics centre, according to a new study on logistics and land use in the Etelä-Pohjanmaa region. Seinäjoki could also become one of the main transshipment centres in the country.

The study conducted by Sito Oy identifies the Roves industrial area in Seinäjoki as an ideal place for a modern logistics centre thanks to its a good location, proximity to markets, availability of skilled labour, and readiness in terms of town planning. According to Juha Mäkinen, a traffic planner for Sito Oy which conducted the study, Seinäjoki’s eastern bypass offers excellent traffic connections to the area.
