He also hopes Moppiili will encourage local food and organic produce growers to increase production by providing them with an online store and a distribution channel. Food circles formed by increasingly environmentally aware consumers can benefit from deliveries of seasonal, locally produced products.
“The idea is that the carbon footprint is reduced by combining deliveries. Perhaps one day the Moppiili vehicle can work on methane gas produced by local producers,” says Salokorpi.
