H&M to open five new stores in Finland on 2012

Swedish fashion chain H&M currently has 44 stores in Finland and sees potential for further growth.

The Swedish fashion chain H&M is further expanding its operations in Finland by opening five new stores in 2012. The new stores will be located in Hyvinkää, Kouvola, Kuopio, Porvoo, and Varkaus. H&M also offers online shopping in Finland.

H&M entered the Finnish market in 1997 and currently has 44 stores in 31 cities and towns around Finland. “After opening the new stores next year, we still see potential for opening new H&M stores in new locations,” says Maisa Korhonen, director of communications and marketing at H&M.

H&M has grown substantially in recent years and now has about 2300 stores in 41 markets around the world. The company's turnover in 2010 was SEK 126,966 million and it employs about 87,000 people.
