Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation is calling on retail companies operating in Finland to apply for funding from its Serve – Pioneers of Service Business programme. Serve has been designed to support companies in developing innovative and internationally competitive service concepts in companies by challenging traditional ways of doing things both at the strategic and the operational level.
“Only 20 out of Serve’s 250 projects are from the retail sector so there is plenty of room for others to join,” says Heli Paavola, coordinator of the Serve programme. “We fund high-risk innovations and big leaps that companies may not otherwise undertake,” she says. The Serve programme will continue until 2013.
All companies registered and operating in Finland can apply for Serve funding at any time. Research organisations may apply for funding during specific application periods. Tekes works with the top innovative companies and research units in Finland. Every year, Tekes finances some 1,500 business research and development projects, and almost 600 public research projects at universities, research institutes and polytechnics.
