Four Finnish cleantech companies among Later Stage Award TOP 30 Finalists

The Finnish Cleantech Cluster includes some of the most innovative technology companies in the world.

Chempolis Ltd. is a technology leader providing innovative and sustainable solutions for biomass, paper, biofuel and chemical industries. Chempolis’ technologies enable papermaking fibres, bioethanol and biochemicals to be produced sustainably from non-wood and non-food biomasses such as straw, bagasse, corn stover and bamboo.


Moventas is one of the largest manufacturers of wind turbine gears in the world. It develops and manufactures high-quality, energy efficient and innovative gears for wind turbines and industrial use, and provides services for their overhaul and maintenance.


Finland has the second most finalists in the TOP 30 after the United States which is a clear recognition that Finland is among the global leaders in cleantech expertise, according to Nina Harjula, Development Manager at the Lahti Science and Business Park. The selection criteria for the finalists included the company’s business model, market position, profitability and ability to gain market share. Ten Later Stage Award winners will be announced on 14 November in Dublin, Ireland.
