Finnish game Angry Birds nominated for Best Mobile App

Rovio’s hit game Angry Birds has received two nominations in the 16th Annual Global Mobile Awards

Angry Birds, the hugely popular game developed by the Finnish company Rovio, has been nominated for the Best Mobile App in the 16th Annual Global Mobile Awards. Angry Birds has also been nominated as the App of the Year on the Apple Platform. The GSMA's Awards will be presented during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 15 February 2011.

The GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards have been organised since 1995, offering organisations across the global mobile eco-system the opportunity to showcase the latest and best mobile products, services and initiatives to the world. The GSMA represents the interests of the worldwide mobile communications industry. Spanning 219 countries, the GSMA unites nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators, as well as more than 200 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, Internet companies, and media & entertainment organisations.
