Finnish consumers buy kitchens from Ikea’s online store

Ikea Finland’s turnover increased by 16% year-on-year.

The product selection in Ikea Finland’s online store has increased by 30% this year to cover almost 6000 products. Currently the most popular products in Ikea’s online store are kitchens, living room and bedroom products, and workspace furniture.

Product groups that are enjoying increasing demand in the online store are children’s products, textiles and bathroom furniture. According to country manager André Schmidtgall, Ikea Finland has played a pioneering role thanks to its online store which has been operating for many years.

Fast growth for Ikea in Finland

Ikea Finland’s turnover increased by 16% to EUR 293.2 million in its latest financial year, ending in August 2012. The company exceeded its growth target by 7%.

“The last year has been excellent for Ikea Finland. We reached all our financial targets and successfully opened a new store in Kuopio,” says Schmidtgall. The number of people visiting Ikea stores in Finland increased by 11% from the previous year to 7.2 million.
