Finnish company Lappset to build Angry Birds activity parks with Rovio

Rovio and Lappset aim to bring together the digital world and the physical world in activity parks around the world.

“Digitalisation is a mega trend which also enables a wide range of physical activities,” says Juha Laakkonen, managing director of Lappset Group Oy, which has grown from a one-man company established in the 1970s to an international concern with sister companies in five countries and exports to 40 countries. Lappset has also designed complete ready-made Angry Birds activity parks which can be supplied as a package solution for outdoor spaces of different sizes.

According to Rovio’s Mighty Eagle, chief marketing officer Peter Vesterbacka, the two companies will create a service which brings together the digital world and the physical world in a way that’s never been seen before. “The popularity of Angry Birds isn’t restricted to any age, sex or social group, and the activity parks too will be designed to be interesting places for absolutely everyone, all around the world,” he says.
