Finnish company invents device for processing medicine waste

IPI Medicine Tech Oy’s innovative Liquid Collector safely empties syringes, ampules, bottles and other medicine containers.

The Finnish company IPI Medicine Tech Oy has developed an innovative device for the safe processing and packing of medicine waste. The IPI 2S Liquid Collector safely empties syringes, ampules, bottles and other medicine containers. The device is manufactured by AMT Systems and is going into test use in the general hospitals of eastern Finland.

According to entrepreneur Ilpo Kröger, the IPI 2S Liquid Collector improves workplace safety and saves money, and is unique in the market. IPI Medicine Tech Oy has also developed a crusher for tables and blisters, and a container for dangerous waste that can be packed into a FIU-100 cardboard barrel, enabling cost-efficient packing in accordance with safety regulations.

IPI Medicine Tech Oy is based in the Joensuu Science Park in eastern Finland, and is currently focusing on the Finnish market but also looking for investors with commercial vision and experience to take the products to the international market.
