Finland ranks first in global mining survey

Finnish government policies encourage exploration and investment, according to the Fraser Institute.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Finland has ranked among the global top 10 for mining investment. In addition to its excellent mineral potential, Finland scores highly for its clear regulatory guidelines, effective tax regime and robust labour market. Finland also lowered its corporate tax rate in 2014.

The ranking is based on the responses of 485 mineral exploration and development company executives from around the world. The Fraser Institute is an independent, non-partisan Canadian policy think-tank.
