Finland was ranked best in the world for its public spending on cleantech R&D (0.07% of GDP), and was placed second for both general and cleantech innovation drivers. Finland also scored well for its emerging cleantech innovation due to considerable VC funding and many new environmental patents. According to the report by the Cleantech Group and WWF, Finland has not been successful enough in commercialising cleantech innovation despite its high emerging cleantech innovation score. The country has seen few M&As and IPOs, though it has strong renewable energy consumption.
Invest in Finland in believes that the innovative Finnish cleantech sector offers excellent business opportunities for international companies interested in scaling up entrepreneurial Finnish cleantech companies to wider commercial success.
