Finland looks for more private welfare services providers

Finland’s rapidly ageing population is increasing the demand for social and health services, creating business opportunities for private service providers.

The ministry is calling for greater efficiency and diversity in the way the services are provided, which means that the market is also open for innovative international companies. According to the ministry, the dismantling of the current institutional care system requires more customer-centred and flexible services, as well as new kinds of personnel solutions. Activities that promote health and wellbeing will also play an important part in delaying the need for services among the ageing population.
