Finland is world’s 7th most prosperous country

Finland is the highest-ranking eurozone country in the 2012 Legatum Prosperity Index.

Finland is ranked 7th in the world and is also the highest-ranking eurozone country in the 2012 Legatum Prosperity Index published by the Legatum Institute.

According to the index, Finland’s major strengths are in entrepreneurship and opportunity, as well as in safety and security. Finland is ranked 3rd in the world in both categories.

Finland is also ranked among the top eight countries in the world in the categories for governance, education and social capital. The other categories examined in the index are economy, health and personal freedom.

The index is produced by the Legatum Institute and covers 96% of the world’s population and 99% of the global GDP. It incorporates traditional economic measures of prosperity with measurements of wellbeing and life satisfaction.
