Finland ranks as the world’s second most competitive country in information technology, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit’s IT Industry Competitiveness Index, published by the Business Software Alliance.
The index benchmarks 66 countries on a series of indicators covering the critical foundation areas for IT innovation: overall business environment, IT infrastructure, human capital, research and development, legal environment, and public support for industry development.
Finland scored consistently well across the indicators to maintain its second place from the previous edition of the index published in 2009. For example, Finland ranked first in the business environment category, fourth for the R&D environment, and sixth for the legal environment.
