The Swedish company Fenix Outdoor AB has acquired all the shares in the Finnish company Partioaitta, which is one of the leading outdoor product chains in Finland. Partioaitta was established in 1928 and has a turnover of about EUR 18 million. It has 12 stores in Finland, located in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Hämeenlinna, Lempäälä, Tampere, Jyväskylä, Oulu and Saariselkä, and has focused on the retail of outdoor and camping products, as well as Scouting equipment.
Fenix Outdoor AB owns the Naturkompaniet chain in Sweden, as well as manufacturing products under its brands Fjällräven, Tierra, Primus, Hanwag, The North Face, Haglofs, Meindl, SmartWool, Teva, Marmot, Arcteryx, Patagonia and Icebreaker. The company’s turnover is about EUR 150 million and it has subsidiaries in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Austria and the Benelux countries. According to Partioaitta, the acquisition by Fenix Outdoor AB gives the company an excellent opportunity to develop its operations in Finland.
