Gold mining company Endomines AB, which is´currently listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, is planning to apply for parallel listing on the NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Stock Exchange. Endomines is operating the Pampalo gold mine in Ilomantsi, eastern Finland, which produced almost 900kg of gold last year.
According to Endomines, the company wants to offer Finnish investors the opportunity to invest in a mining company operating in Finland. Endomines CEO Markus Ekberg believes that there is interest in the shares and hopes that the parallel listing will increase trading and further
interest in the shares. In March this year, Endomines completed a directed new share issue raising SEK 48 million. The proceeds will be used for accelerated exploration in Finland.
Aiming for more listed mining companies
Increasing the number of mining companies listed on the NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Stock Exchange is one of the objectives of Finnish Industry Investment Ltd, a Finnish government-owned investment company which has been one of the investorsi n Endomines since 2003.
“Sotkamo Silver, which was listed last year, and now Endomines offer investors the opportunity for ownership in the Finnish mining industry. The domestic ownership of the mining companies operating in Finland will be strengthened,” says Kimmo Viertola, Director, Investment Programmes, at Finnish Industry Investment Ltd.
