Dow Jones Sustainable Development Index lists eight Finnish companies

Fortum, Kesko, Neste Oil, Nokia, Outokumpu, Rautaruukki, Stora Enso and UPM-Kymmene have been included in the latest Dow Jones Sustainable Development Index published on September 9th.

The previous Dow Jones Index listed six Finnish companies. New Finnish entries this time were Rautaruukki and UPM-Kymmene.

In sector specific estimates the best success was achieved by Nokia, which was ranked as the world’s best technology company. Nokia achieved its position as a “Technology supersector leader” already for the second consecutive time.

Stora Enso scored the highest points of all European forest and paper industry companies.

Dow Jones Sustainability Index tracks the performance of world’s leading sustainability-driven companies, assessed based on economic, ecological and social criteria. The indexes are intended mainly for investors who in addition to economic outcomes value also aspects of sustainable development.
