The British department store group Debenhams will open its first store in Finland in the new extension of the Iso Omena shopping centre in Espoo, southern Finland. According to Citycon, the owner of Iso Omena and market leader in the Finnish shopping centre business, it has signed an agreement of intent with Debenham’s franchise partner for the store. Citycon is planning a major extension of the Iso Omena shopping centre following the completion of the new metro line from Helsinki to Espoo in 2015.
Debenhams is a leading international, multi-channel brand which trades out of 240 stores across 28 countries, whose product selection is especially targeted at families. According to Debenhams, it gives its customers a unique, differentiated and exclusive mix of own brands, international brands and concessions. Debenhams’s revenue in 2011 was GBP 2.2 billion.
