Consumer confidence improves in Finland

Finnish consumers had more confidence in the national economy and in their own finances in the final quarter of 2013 compared to one year earlier.

Consumer confidence in the Finnish economy increased by 4.8 points in the final quarter of 2013 compared to the final quarter of 2012, and by 9.5 points compared to the same period two years ago, according to EPSI Finland.

Finnish consumers were also more confident about their own finances in the final quarter of 2013. The index went up by 1.5 points compared to the final quarter of 2012, and by 4.3 points from the final quarter of 2011.

According to EPSI Rating, consumer confidence in Finland is currently at a medium-strong level. EPSI Rating’s consumer sentiment analysis is based on telephone interviews with about 20,000 Finnish consumers annually.
