Atos’ Finnish partner Academica Oy won the Uptime Institute Green Enterprise IT Award 2010 for its innovative and energy efficient datacenter, also located in Helsinki. The heat produced by the servers of the data centre is transmitted with a heat pump into the district heating system run by Helsingin Energia and is used for heating buildings and water in the city.
Atos is an international information technology services company with annual revenues of EUR 8.7 billion and 78,500 employees in 42 countries. It was created in July this year through the acquisition of Siemens IT Services by the French company Atos Origin. Serving a global client base, Atos delivers hi-tech transactional services, consulting and technology services, systems integration and managed services.
