The popularity of all-inclusive holidays is clearly on the rise, according to Finland’s biggest travel agents Aurinkomatkat, Finnmatkat ja Tjäreborg. All-inclusive trips where breakfast, lunch and dinner are paid in advance for each day of the holiday are usually chosen by families that want to know their exact holiday budget before travelling.
Last year 17% of Finnmatkat’s customers opted for all-inclusive trips. Demand has increased considerably this year although no figures are available as yet, according to Salla Salo from Finnmatkat. Hille Matekovits from Aurinkomatkat also says that their all-inclusive packages have become more popular.
“The convenience has been seen as a good thing. Some time ago families with children favoured apartment hotels with cooking facilities. Now all-inclusive definitely feels like the trend. Mother does not have to make the morning porridge or worry about the dishes. An all-inclusive package makes the holiday into a real holiday,” says Salo.
