New holiday village planned in Finland’s coastal region

Islander style village is designed to become a major tourist attraction for the archipelago area.
A new holiday village will be built in Lootholma on Finland’s south-western coast. The village will be constructed in the style of the islander communities living in Finland’s archipelago, and based on the principles of eco-friendly sustainable development. The village will include accommodation and other services for both tourists and local residents.
The site for the new development is the former Kustavi holiday centre, which is being renovated with a new harbour for visiting boats, saunas on the shoreline, a restaurant, and a well-equipped campsite. These facilities will already open in the summer 2010 and are expected to attract holiday caravaners, campers and boaters. The islander village project is expected to be completed in about two years.
