Helsinki has the most satisfied new entrepreneurs

ECER examines the level of entrepreneurs’ satisfaction in their local business policies and the services aimed at entrepreneurs.

Helsinki has the most satisfied new entrepreneurs, according to the European Cities Entrepreneurship Ranking (ECER) – Banque Populaire 2010 study. Overall, Helsinki was ranked 7th in ECER’s third annual study of 37 major business cities in 18 European countries.


ECER examines the level of entrepreneurs’ satisfaction in their local business policies and the services aimed at entrepreneurs. More than 4500 business representatives were interviewed for the study.

The study examined five major themes: promotion, pre-creation, post-creation, financial support and the environment, which also included the quality of life and sustainable development. Helsinki came first in the pre-creation category. Businesses were selected for the study according to specific profiles, such as innovative, traditional and single owners.
