Railway logistics area development opportunity with the Port of Helsinki

The Port of Helsinki is inviting interested parties to discuss the development of the railway logistics area in the Vuosaari Harbour Centre.

Vuosaari Harbour is the most modern port facility in Europe. In the summer of 2009, a 6.8 hectare area in the Vuosaari Harbour Centre was separated from the logistics area next to the harbour for the development of a railway logistics area. The planning, financing, and realisation of the area was subject to competitive tendering. Contract negotiations were started based on the received tenders, but they did not lead to the formation of a basic agreement.

The competitive tendering process has now ended. The Port of Helsinki is committed to continuing the development of the railway logistics area, the railway traffic to and from the harbour, as well as operational preconditions for combined transportation in Vuosaari. The Port of Helsinki is therefore ready to discuss with interested parties regarding the realization and development of the area, which is reserved for the above-mentioned operations.
