Norway’s energy utility Hafslund selects Finnish GENERIS system

Finnish company Process Vision Oy will deliver a new Meter Data and Meter Asset Management system for Norway’s national Smart Metering roll-out.

 Hafslund, Norway’s largest energy utility, has signed a Letter of Intent with Process Vision Oy for the delivery of a large Meter Data and Meter Asset Management System based on the Finnish company’s GENERIS system platform. Process Vision Oy specialises in information systems and applications for the energy sector, while Hafslund is the biggest electricity company in Norway, with 540,000 subscribers, and the fifth largest utility company in the Nordic countries.


The major deal further strengthens Process Vision’s position in the Norwegian energy market. With the implementation of the new Meter Data and Meter Asset Management system, Hafslund Nett will be well prepared to manage the challenges of a nationwide Smart Metering roll-out process, according to Dr Simo Makkonen, CEO of Process Vision Oy.

“Our experiences from many other similar installations in the Nordic countries will ensure the best matching to current and future Energy Management market needs following the expected Norwegian AMS-roll-out,” says Makkonen. “GENERIS functionalities also enable energy efficiency processes, matching the European 20/20/20 goal.”
