July 2010 was the best month ever for Finland’s accommodation establishments, when measured by their room occupancy rate.
The average cost of an overnight stay in Finnish accommodation establishments was typically low for July at EUR 31.63, which is still the highest value ever for the month of July. The highest average prices were recorded in Porvoo, Kotka and Mikkeli. The average price of a hotel room in the whole country was EUR 78.12. The most expensive hotel rooms were in Savonlinna (111.06 EUR), Kuopio (98.88 EUR) and Porvoo (97.59 EUR).
These figures are based on preliminary data from Statistics Finland, collected from accommodation establishments with at least 10 rooms, cottages, youth hostels or caravan pitches with an electricity connection.
