Lively business for hotels in Espoo, Finland

Growing occupancy rate and new hotel developments boost the hotel business in Espoo.

Hotels in the City of Espoo in southern Finland are enjoying good business. Statistics for the period January-July 2010 show that each hotel room was occupied on average 24 times per months, compared to 21 times for the same period in 2009.

In September 2010, Espoo also gained about two hundred new hotel rooms with the opening of the Radisson Blue Hotel in Otaniemi. The hotel’s manager Riitta Kilo is convinced that there is enough demand in Espoo for high quality accommodation.

Also in the news is Leppävaara’s StayAtEspoo hotel, which has changed ownership to Hellsten Hotel Apartments.  A new luxury Marriott spa and conference hotel is expected to be completed in Espoo’s Westend at the end of 2012.
