Finland’s retail trade sales grew by 1.5 per cent in April

Both retail and wholesale trade sales are showing good growth.

Finland’s retail trade sales increased by 1.5% in April 2010 compared to April 2009, according to Statistics Finland. The total sales volume grew by 0.2% during the same time period. Wholesale trade sales went up by 3.9%, while motor vehicle sales surged by an impressive 17%. In total, trade sales increased by 4.7 per cent in April. 

Sales in the retail trade rose by 2.4% and wholesale trade by 3.8% in the period January-April 2010 compared to the corresponding period the year before. Motor vehicle sales also rose by 3.2%. In total, trade sales were up by 3.3% in the period January-April 2010, compared to the same period in 2009.
